Robbie: Hi, I'm Robbie. Today Reggie is coming over to see me. She said she has something fun planned for us. Here she is now!

Reggie: Hey Rob, Hey everybody! So, Rob, are you like ready to go?

Robbie: Go? Go where?

Reggie: To the movies! I told you I have something really cool planned for us!

Robbie: Oh, great! What are we going to see? That new cartoon movie that just came out? "The Land Before Time part 26: Littlefoot goes to School?"

Reggie: Um... How about "NO!" C'mon Rob! We're going to see a real movie! Are you coming or not.

Robbie: That depends. Why don't you tell me what movie you are taking me to see?

Reggie: Rob. Ya gotta trust me bud. My new friend Blaze said this was the coolest movie and if I'm going to hang out with her, I need to see it too.

Robbie: Her name is Blaze?

Reggie: Yeah? What about it?

Robbie: Nothing, I guess. Is that her real name?

Reggie: Rob, we didn't like play twenty questions, we just started hanging out together, OK?

Robbie: OK. So what is this coolest movie that you want to see?

Reggie: You're going to make me tell you?

Robbie: Either tell me or I'm not going.

Reggie: Rob. You can be such a drag sometimes. You are just like my Grandma. Next thing I know you're gonna be lecturing me about going to sleep early and eating a healthy breakfast.

Robbie: I already do those things, Reggie.

Reggie: See? It's worse than I thought! You need to get out and do something fun once in awhile. That's why you need to see "Shriek 2" with me!

Robbie: Shriek 2???!!!

Reggie: Oops. I wasn't going to tell you until we were sitting down in the theater.

Robbie: Your new friend wants you to see Shriek 2? That's rated R!

Reggie: Yep, R for Reggie and Robbie. Now let's go!

Robbie: Reggie! I am NOT going to that movie! And you shouldn't go either!

Reggie: What? Why aren't you going? Chicken? Bok! (Continues to cluck while he talks)

Robbie: Well, first of all, no, I am not chicken. Second, I don't go to movies like that because they have stuff in them I shouldn't see. After all, isn't Shriek 2 the movie they advertise as the scariest, most violent movie of all time? If I even think about going to a movie like that, I feel like I am going to be sick to my stomach! WOULD YOU STOP CLUCKING AT ME?!

Reggie: Bok. There, that was the last one. Rob, you really need to quit making excuses and just go with me. You don't want to be unpopular, do you?

Robbie: Unpopular? Because of a movie?

Reggie: Yeah! The most important thing in the world is for Blaze to like me and want to be my friend. Going to this movie will make that happen.

Robbie: Reggie, I think you are wrong. You live with your Grandma. What did she say about this.

Reggie: Um... You know, I never noticed that you had freckles on your nose. Here, let me count them! 1, 2, 3...

Robbie: Reggie?

Reggie: Yeah.

Robbie: Don't change the subject. What did your Grams say?

Reggie: I kinda... sorta... didn't ask her. She thinks I am going to the library today.

Robbie: Reggie. How much do you love Grams?

Reggie: Bud, I would walk through fire for Grams... I would eat live tarantulas! I... I would cover myself with...

Robbie: OK, we get the idea, Reggie!

Reggie: But to hang out with Blaze you would do something that you know she wouldn't like for you to do?

Reggie: Aw Rob... I don't know. Since you put it that way... What do you want me to say?

Robbie: Reggie, I care about you, just like God cares about you. Think about what you have done so far just so Blaze will like you. You lied to your Grams about where you were going and were going to sneak into a movie you are not old enough to see? What is she going to ask you to do next?

Reggie: Well, she has already been telling me that it's cool to smoke and I should give it a try. I haven't yet.

Robbie: God and your Grams have a lot in common. They both want what is best for you.

Reggie: Hold up! God like doesn't want me to go to the movie?

Robbie: Well, you decide. The Bible in Romans, Chapter 12 verses 1 and 2 says “Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do.” That means that we need to do what God wants, Reggie! Not just whatever is the most popular or cool thing to do!

Reggie: Oh! Hmmm..

Robbie: Well?

Reggie: You know. Now that you mention it, I get a sick feeling in my stomach when I think about that movie too. Actually, I feel that way whenever I am around Blaze. But she is like *SO* popular. I guess it's better to be popular with the ones who love us... and with God, huh?

Robbie: Yep. It sure is.

Reggie: Well, let's go.

Robbie: Where?

Reggie: Time to go tell Grams that I fibbed and see if she will forgive me. I want you there to support me.

Robbie: OK. I'll be happy to go with you! Think your grams has baked any cookies today?

Reggie: Rob! You and your stomach! Let's go!

THE END
